Website, Investment Portfolios & Peer to Peer Lending Figures Updated

Website, Investment Portfolios & Peer to Peer Lending Figures Updated

After a sabbatical of about 6 months, I finally got around to updating the website & investment income numbers.

Lots of excuses for my tardiness, but basically I just had other stuff going on that seemed more important. The birth of our first child being one of them, and of course COVID being another, and putting them both together made for an interesting time.

I’ve also been head down working on the house (as I think many of us have with the lockdowns in place). We’ve had builders running all over the shop so I’ve been “directing” (read as irritating) those guys and generally making a nuisance of myself 😀

For the last month or so I’ve been working on the website as I really had let it get behind. The site has had a complete revamp; New theme (faster & less busy) plus other additions which (hopefully) make it easier to use & read. The investment tracking portfolios have all been updated, including the Peer to Peer lending spreadsheet & graphs/charts. All lending data is now posted again.

After drawing down the Peer to Peer Lending Portfolio by almost 50% because of COVID & the uncertainty it brought. I’ve finally started increasing my investments again.  I feel now that most of the platforms that are still around after dealing with the liquidity issues and the defaults the lockdowns brought, are probably worth getting back in to in a bigger way. There are still a few of the platforms out there who are paying decent returns for the risk. Or I could put my money back in NS&I and make 0.01%. NOT!

I think the interesting (and great) point is; all the way throughout the pandemic, I haven’t lost a penny of investment capital in UK lenders. Even the platforms that closed down paid me back, and most with interest income! Says something about the UK Peer to Peer lending sector I think. Not so much with the Euro lenders, but that’s another story. Regulation does count for something, even if it means lower risk/rewards.

I’ll do a full update in the coming weeks, but for now you can see on the Peer to Peer Lending Portfolio page which platforms I’m increasing capital with.

The main Portfolios Page is now where all of my investment portfolios are published. Hopefully they are easier to find and read now.

Most of the Peer to Peer Lender Reviews have been updated. I’m still working on a few of them though.

I’ve also added a couple of new investment portfolios. The Crypto Portfolio, & The Recovery Portfolio. I’ll be tracking the value of both of these online monthly as we move forward.

On the mixed asset portfolios (AKA Growth Portfolios), I’ve implemented pulling in quote data from Google & Yahoo Finance, so they should all be up to date (or fairly close) real-time. The only one that’s not of course is the Peer to Peer Lending Portfolio which I’ll continue to update at the end of each month.

That’s all for now. Just a quick update to let you know I’m back 🙂

I’d be interested to know you thoughts on the new website design if you have a few minutes to spare to write a comment?

Thanks again for your continued support.

  1. Hi … Great to see you back and well, and also for the update on the website .. it looks really good. I really appreciate your insight, and also the fact that you publish the value of, and return on, your portfolios … I love a good spreadsheet ! ….it gave me the confidence to get stuck in the tune of £50K about 18months back. Thanks again and keep up the good work. – cheers – Chris
